Chest binders are a godsend for transgender and gender non-conforming folks, but they do come with a few potential health risks if not done correctly. Many folks that are new to binding make a few common mistakes, but that’s okay! Here are some common pitfalls you should try to avoid:
- Buying a binder that’s too tight and restricts your breathing
- Wearing more than one binder at a time (yikes!)
- Binding while exercising, sleeping, or without taking a break
